visit to MNAC

Yesterday we went to see the exhibitions open at the MNAC (National Museum of Contemporary Art) . The most interesting one was dedicated to wedding pictures from late 19th-early 20th century . I do not see however how it fits into the 'contemporary art' profile, but the museum is a hybrid all in all, so I'll save my comments on this topic :).
Here are some images, to give you a hint ;)

my outfit was made up of:

Blouse: ethnic inspiration, no label
Pants: linen (tooooo hot yesterday )
Sandals: Bata
Bag: Payless Shoe Source, New York
Necklace: Irina Schrotter

50's & an improvised belt - grandma skirt #2

So the deal with these is... I have so many beautiful skirts from grandma that are either too long, or too large, etc. , and I do not want to modify them just yet. I mean I will cut into them eventually, but before that, I want to get as much wear as I can out of them as they are.
If my previous grandma skirt was kind of shifted into the 20's , with the low waist marked by the belt & (fake) pearl necklace, today's one reflects one of my interpretations of the 50's.

The belt you see in these images is actually something I improvised, out of a cross-body bag strap and some ribbon I had at hand. It turned out pretty nice, I think...And it took just half a minute to make :)))). If only fashion were this easy :D.

Composition:
Dress: grandma skirt #2
Belt: improvised
Wedges: Charlotte Ronson
Beads: handmedown from grandma
Earrings: Debenhams (gift from my bf :D)

Here's a close up of the belt :

And some close-ups of me :))):

... of green, grey & white...

I had to go out a bit today, so I threw together these items. The flats are what I call my Mondrian sandals. Someone at work said they resemble Kandinsky's paintings, but I say they're rather molded after Mondrian's geometrical artwork.
The bag has an unexpected skull lining, and I attached a ribbon inside for the victims of the 2008 China earthquake. I received this ribbon when in Shanghai, a couple of days after the earthquake happened, and I had the bag with me at the time. Somehow it didn't seem morbid to place this symbol next to the skulls.

Composition:
Blouse : I've had since forever
Jeans : H&M

Bag: Zara (from Tel-Aviv)
Necklace+Earrings: gift from my bf's mum

summer day city

This is the most laid back outfit I've sported lately (funny, while I'm writing this I'm listening to Muse- Feeling Good :D -- it really fits my mood when having worn this :D)
Except for the tank&wedges, it's all vintage. I loved wearing it, as I could see nothing similar walking around me. And that always makes me feel fresh & stylish. I don't wanna brag, but I really turned heads with it :D:D:D.

Pants :Wolfhose
Tank: gift from my sis (from Paris , as if the print doesn't speak for itself :)) )
Shirt: I've had since I was a kid, it has a gorgeous print with Brazilian women gathering coffee
Bag: from a SH shop in Bratislava
Earrings: vintage Givenchy
Wedges: Charlotte Ronson

P.s. notice the bag :D:D:D, this is another of the promised ones

party party

Here's what I wore to a party last evening. It is kind of hot for boots, but I wanted to give the dress a rougher look using flat soles. And the jean vest, of course (I can't seem to part with it...and the temperature is approaching 35°C :)) ).
You can see 2 pairs of boots in these pics, for the party I chose the Hush Puppies one, but I think the wellies are way a bigger match with the dress:D.

Composition:
Dress: Chloé
Purse (turned into a midi clutch): Nine West
Boots #1: Hush Puppies
Boots #2: Burberry wellingtons
Vest: New Yorker

Jarvis Cocker & Beth Ditto

Several days ago i was blog-browsing and found these images of amazing Ditto at Know Magazine.
And I remembered of this duet of hers with Pulp's Jarvis Cocker I once found .Enjoy it :D

As for Ditto's controversial fashion manifest, it's still giving me mixed feelings, but today I definitely like it ;)
